A countywide update on clinic locations, services, and expanded care for families
WHITEVILLE, NC — The Columbus County Health Department has released updated details on its clinic locations and the range of services now available across Whiteville, reflecting ongoing efforts to make public health care more accessible for families throughout the county. Under the leadership of Director Daniel Buck, MHA, BSPH, the department now highlights four key service hubs, each offering specialized care for residents at every stage of life.
At 604 North Madison Street, the Adult & Women’s Health Clinic continues to anchor reproductive and preventive care. The site provides family planning and contraceptive services, pregnancy testing, maternity care, and comprehensive STI testing and treatment. Residents can also access HIV testing and prevention services, routine laboratory specimen collection, and a monthly Infectious Disease Clinic. A dedicated Communicable Disease and Tuberculosis nurse supports testing, treatment, and case management for TB and other reportable illnesses.
Child and family services remain centralized at 800 Jefferson Street, Unit 102, where the department offers Child Health, Immunizations, and WIC support. This clinic provides well‑child visits, developmental screenings, and both childhood and adult immunizations, including seasonal flu and COVID‑19 vaccines when available. The WIC office continues to serve eligible families with nutrition services and breastfeeding support.
The department’s Administration, Health Education, and Social Services division operates from 810 Pinckney Street, coordinating public health outreach, prevention programs, and community education initiatives. Social workers at this location assist residents with case management, care coordination, and referrals to local resources.
The county’s Pediatric Dental Clinic is preparing for a relocation to 810 Spivey Road in the coming weeks.
Until the move is complete, services continue at the current site on Jefferson Street. The clinic provides pediatric dental exams and cleanings, preventive care such as fluoride treatments and sealants, and basic restorative services including fillings and appropriate extractions. Families also receive oral health education tailored to children’s needs. The clinic operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and accepts Medicaid, private insurance, and self‑pay patients. Financial assistance is available for uninsured and underinsured families.
