WHITEVILLE — A Columbus County jury has found Christopher Bryson Hickman not guilty on all counts following a week‑long trial in Superior Court. Hickman, of the Clarkton area, had faced charges of statutory rape, statutory sex offense, and indecent liberties with a child stemming from allegations filed in December 2023.
The verdict was delivered late Tuesday afternoon after jurors deliberated for several hours. Judge Thomas Lock presided over the case. William Gore Jr. represented Hickman, while Assistant District Attorneys Jason Minnicozi and Heather Payne Brittan prosecuted for the state.
