BOLIVIA, NC — A 33-year-old woman is facing multiple felony charges which include child endangerment and drug trafficking offenses after investigators alleged that two young children ingested a controlled substance earlier this summer.
Jessica Sibbett was taken into custody on Monday, August 10, following a multi-count arrest warrant. Warrants allege that a 6-year-old and a 3-year-old ingested a controlled substance on June 29.
Sibbett is facing an array of severe felony counts reflecting both child endangerment and alleged narcotics distribution. Specifically, she has been charged with two counts of felony exposing a child to a controlled substance, along with two counts of felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver a Schedule II controlled substance. Iestigators added additional charges of felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver fentanyl, as well as a count of felony possession of a stolen firearm.
Following her arrest, Sibbett appeared before a magistrate where a $75,000 secured bond was set. She has been assigned a public defender to represent her moving forward as the investigation continues, and authorities have not yet released additional details regarding the condition of the two children or the specific circumstances surrounding the June 29 incident.
