LAKE WACCAMAW — Town officials have closed a section of Canal Cove Road due to ongoing construction work and are urging drivers to avoid the area until the project is complete.
According to the Town of Lake Waccamaw, the closure affects the stretch of Canal Cove Road from Weaver Drive to 209 Canal Cove Road. The town emphasized that the roadway is closed to all traffic and warned drivers not to move barricades or attempt to drive around them.
Officials said the road surface is unsafe for travel while improvements are underway and asked residents to plan alternate routes and allow extra travel time.
“We appreciate your patience while this work is being completed,” the town said in its announcement.
No timeline for reopening has been released.
