Break‑In Reported on Waynes Way; Appliances and Copper Wire Stolen

WHITEVILLE — Deputies are investigating a break‑in at a home on Waynes Way after a resident reported the theft of copper wire and major appliances Monday afternoon.

The victim, Gary Wayne Horne, 68, told Sgt. Caleb Fonvielle that a suspect entered the property and stole $700 in copper wire, a washer and dryer valued at $300, and a refrigerator valued at $300. The suspect was described as a 60‑year‑old Black male, 5’10”, 243 pounds.

No arrest has been announced.

All individuals listed are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
Charges and case statuses may change as investigations and court proceedings continue.
