Bolton Narcotics Investigation Leads to Firearm Seizure and Felony Charges

BOLTON, NC — A late-Wednesday law enforcement operation in Bolton led to the seizure of cocaine, a loaded firearm, and multiple drug charges against a local resident.

Detective William D. Holden with the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office conducted an investigation along the 200 block of Cedar Street in Bolton around 6:54 p.m. on Wednesday. During the operation, officers recovered approximately 0.81 grams of cocaine, 0.70 grams of marijuana, a black Glock 26 9mm handgun, a magazine, and 13 rounds of ammunition.

Deputies subsequently arrested Dakota Ryan Lewis, 33, of Bolton at 8:18 p.m. Lewis was charged with felony possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, felony maintaining a vehicle or dwelling place for controlled substances, carrying a concealed gun, possession of marijuana up to 1/2 ounce, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Lewis was booked into the Columbus County Detention Center and later released on a $10,000 unsecured bond.

Any individuals listed are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
