She was born March 11, 1937, to the late Matthew H. Thompson and Grace Brown Thompson. She is preceded in death by her husband Talmadge, her twin brother Bobby, his wife Betty Jo, brother-in-law Dennis Ivey, and grandson Douglas.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Sherry Langley and husband William of Warrensville, North Carolina; son, George Elliott and wife Sharon of Lumber Bridge, North Carolina; three grandchildren; four great grandchildren; a sister, Maxine Ivey of Lumber Bridge, North Carolina; a brother, Henry Thompson and wife Jean of Lumber Bridge, North Carolina; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Graveside services will be held at two o’clock in the afternoon on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at the Cobb Family Cemetery in Lumber Bridge, North Carolina.
The family will receive friends from ten o’clock in the morning until eleven o’clock in the morning at White Funeral and Cremation Service, 4690 East Coast Lane, Shallotte.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation, Gideons, or the charity of your choosing.
