BC News Community Hero — Animal Protective Services Officer Commended for Professional Response

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, N.C. — A Brunswick County Animal Protective Services officer has been recognized for his professionalism after a citizen praised his handling of a recent call involving loose dogs in a neighborhood.

According to the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office, Cpl. G. West responded to the report and worked calmly and efficiently to address the situation. Officials said he helped ease concerns among several residents while ensuring the animals were safely managed.

Cpl. West also took time to explain the next steps in the process and encouraged neighbors to report any future issues so Animal Protective Services can continue to respond appropriately.

Sheriff’s Office officials thanked Cpl. West for his dedication and ongoing commitment to community safety, noting that his actions reflect the department’s mission to protect both residents and their pets.
