Audrey Jean Russ Green, 83, of Whiteville, passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at the Angel House in Whiteville, NC.
Audrey was born on November 15, 1942, daughter of the late Curtis Russ and Lunetta Edwards Russ.
Services will be held at a later date.
Audrey was a fierce lady with a strong work ethic. She was a graduate of the first nursing class at Southeastern Community College. Over the course of her nursing career, Audrey achieved many accomplishments, such as head nurse of ICU at Columbus County Hospital, a creator of the Nurses Aid 1 & 2 program at Southeastern Community College and was instrumental in changes for the betterment of the hospital and nurses in 1976.
The surviving family includes two children, Michael Vann Watts and wife, Felicia, Sandra Watts Inman; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild; and a host of siblings.
