SHALLOTTE, NC — The Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an assault involving a school employee and a law enforcement officer that occurred on April 20.

The incident took place at a location on Village Road in Shallotte. The primary victim, identified as 26-year-old Caroline Jone, reported being assaulted with personal weapons.

A second offense linked to the same case identifies Deputy Timothy Jarvis as a victim of Assault on a Government Official. Under North Carolina law, this charge typically applies when an individual knowingly assaults an officer or employee of the state while they are discharging their official duties.
