Mrs. Berry was born July 26, 1941 in Kansas, daughter of the late Charles and Ethel Davis. She graduated from the University of Kansas with a nursing degree. Carol worked in the ER for several years, later gaining her master’s degree. She taught at Ohio State University and Otterbein University in Columbus Ohio for 29 years before retiring and moving to Southport. Carol was also a LPCC – Licensed Practical Clinical Counselor, assisting patients with mental health issues. Carol was working toward a PhD prior to her retirement.
Carol was very active at Trinity United Methodist Church; she will be remembered for her faith. She was a member of the Health and Wellness Ministry at Trinity Church and an active prayer warrior. Mrs. Berry was a loving mother, and will be greatly missed by all those who’s life she had touched.
She is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Engle; and a granddaughter, Samantha Engle.
Mrs. Berry was preceded in death by her husband, William Berry; her first husband, George Engle; three brothers, Wayne Davis, Buddy Davis, and Jerry Davis; and a sister, Colleen Freisen.
A celebration of her life will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Southport.
