Brunswick Deputies Honored for Going Above and Beyond

BRUNSWICK COUNTY SHERIFFS OFFICE SEAL

Local officers praised for “awesome” presentation on child safety and community protection.

Brunswick County, NC — Two members of the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) are receiving high marks this week for their dedication to community education and the protection of local children.

The recognition stems from a recent Children’s Ministry training held on February 15. Seeking professional guidance on a sensitive subject, a local organizer reached out to the BCSO to see if an officer could speak to their staff about the importance of reporting suspected child abuse and the specific warning signs to watch for.

Deputy Evans answered the call, reportedly agreeing to help without hesitation. She was joined by Detective Sergeant McRae, and together the duo delivered what attendees described as an informative, and highly professional presentation. In addition to the safety training, the officers shared details regarding various BCSO programs available to help families and community groups.

“They were friendly, informative, and very professional,” noted the event organizer, identified as S.G. “I recommend them to any group needing this kind of information. Well, done ladies and well done BCSO.”

The Sheriff’s Office expressed immense pride in the two officers, noting that their willingness to step in and educate the public reflects the department’s core mission of service. By teaching community members how to identify and report concerns, these deputies are providing citizens with the tools to make a life-changing difference for vulnerable children.

The BCSO extended a formal thank you to Deputy Evans and Detective Sergeant McRae for representing the office with such compassion and commitment to keeping the community’s children safe.
