LELAND — The Leland Planning Board will hold a public meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 24 at 6 p.m. to consider a zoning map amendment tied to a voluntary annexation request involving more than 150 acres. The meeting will take place at Leland Town Hall, located at 102 Town Hall Drive.
The proposal concerns approximately 150.61 acres along U.S. Highway 74/76, situated east and west of Compass Pointe East Wynd NE and south of the Compass Pointe neighborhood. The request was submitted by WGTRACT6 LLC and WGTRACT10B LLC.
Planning Board members will review a recommendation to initially zone two Brunswick County parcels — Tax Parcel IDs 0280000101 and 02200024 — shifting them from CO‑C‑LD (Commercial–Low Density) to a combination of districts:
- LE‑M‑F (Multifamily District)
- LE‑C‑1 (Commercial Business District, General Commercial)
- LE‑C‑3 (Commercial Trucking District)

If approved by the Planning Board, the recommendation would move to Town Council for final consideration.
Residents are invited to attend the meeting and offer comments. Written comments may also be submitted up to 24 hours before the meeting.
Questions may be directed to the Town Clerk’s Office at 910‑332‑4297.
