RIEGELWOOD, NC — A local woman is facing multiple charges, including child abuse, following a domestic disturbance in Riegelwood.
On July 10, 2026, at approximately 11:38 AM, Deputy Jordan Hill of the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office responded to a domestic disturbance call at a residence on Crown Point Drive. Upon arrival, investigators determined that a physical assault had taken place in the presence of minor children.
Multiple Charges Filed Following Deputy Response
Following the on-scene investigation, deputies arrested Mary Stevens-Mosley, 52, of Riegelwood. Stevens-Mosley is accused of simple assault and putting children in a hazardous environment during the domestic dispute.
According to police and booking records, the victims in the incident included a 32-year-old female and a 2-year-old female. Stevens-Mosley was transported to the Columbus County Detention Center.

Stevens-Mosley is currently awaiting trial and was placed under a $3,500 secured bond.
