NAVASSA, NC — A Leland woman is behind bars following an early morning assault in Navassa that led to an attempted murder charge.
The Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office arrested 35-year-old Jennifer Antionette Bryant on Sunday, May 10, 2026. According to authorities, deputies responded to a residence on Old Cedar Loop Road at 4:00 a.m. to investigate a reported assault.
Following an initial investigation at the scene, Bryant was charged with Attempted First-Degree Murder. She was taken into custody and transported to the Brunswick County Detention Facility, where she is currently being held.
Officials stated that the investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
