JCB Flavors recalls Wildlife Seasoning popcorn toppers over Salmonella concerns are pulled nationwide after supplier flags contaminated milk powder; products may be in North Carolina homes.
FDA RECALL: JCB Flavors, LLC has issued a voluntary recall for select Wildlife Seasoning popcorn toppers after learning that a milk powder ingredient used in production may be contaminated with Salmonella. The Wisconsin‑based company announced the recall on May 6, and the FDA published the notice on May 7.

The affected product – Popping Topping Sour Cream & Onion, sold in 1.6 oz. containers was distributed through retail stores and online platforms nationwide, meaning it may have been purchased by consumers in North Carolina.
The recalled seasoning carries the following identifiers: UPC: 0‑31851‑01001‑6, Lot number: 057596, Best By: 5/18/2027, Brand: Wildlife Seasoning Popping Topping Sour Cream & Onion (1.6 oz)
No illnesses have been reported, and third‑party testing of finished products has not detected contamination. The recall stems from an upstream issue involving a milk powder ingredient supplied by California Dairies, Inc., which is currently the source of multiple national recalls.
Consumers are urged not to use or consume the product. Items may be returned to the place of purchase for a refund.
