COLUMBUS COUNTY — Three people were charged with driving while impaired between Tuesday and Thursday, according to arrest and incident logs.

  • Matthew Kincaid — charged with DWI and failure to reduce speed; unsecured bond.
  • Daniel Wendell Harrelson, 38 — charged with DWI; $6,500 secured bond.
  • A 22‑year‑old driver arrested by the N.C. Highway Patrol — charged with DWI and speeding; $3,500 secured bond.

A fourth impaired‑driving case was documented at Handi Hugo in Riegelwood, where a 38‑year‑old male was charged with DUI after deputies responded to a disturbance.

The sheriff’s office says impaired‑driving calls typically rise during spring and early summer.

All individuals listed are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
