CERRO GORDO — A 14‑year‑old girl is accused of assaulting multiple students and bringing pepper spray onto school property during a Friday morning disturbance at West Columbus School, according to the sheriff’s office.

Deputy Raymond Hall responded around 10:09 a.m. after school staff reported a fight involving several middle‑school students. The incident report lists 10 juvenile victims, ages 10 to 14, with a mix of minor injuries.

The suspect, a 14‑year‑old female, is accused of simple assault and possessing pepper spray on educational property, which is prohibited under state law.

The school district has not released a statement, but similar incidents statewide have prompted calls for increased campus supervision and mental‑health support.

The case has been referred to juvenile authorities.

All individuals listed are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
