Jose Castro and Maria Aguinada of Delco turned a $5 scratch‑off ticket into a $200,000 win.
The pair purchased their Prize Link Multiplier ticket at Smoker Friendly on Reed Road in Leland and visited lottery headquarters on Thursday to claim their prize. They chose to split the winnings evenly, each receiving $100,000 before taxes. After required state and federal withholdings, they each collected $72,011.
Prize Link Multiplier launched in April with five top prizes of $200,000. Only one of those top prizes has yet to be claimed.
Lottery proceeds continue to support education across the state. Columbus County received $67 million in lottery‑funded grants for new school construction.
