Roberts and O’Connor recognized by Chief Mercer and Assistant Chief Lentz
WINNABOW, NC — Winnabow Volunteer Fire & Rescue proudly recognized Firefighters Roberts and O’Connor this week as they received their black Interior Firefighter helmet shields from Chief Mercer and Assistant Chief A. Lentz.
Receiving a black shield and removing the probationary firefighter shield marks one of the most meaningful milestones in a firefighter’s early career. The helmet is among the most iconic pieces of the fire service, symbolizing readiness, responsibility, and the trust placed in those who enter hazardous environments to protect lives and property.
