Born on November 9, 1929, in Russeville, Alabama, Bill was the son of the late Chester E. Keenum and Rose W. Keenum. He shared 40 devoted years of marriage to the late Betty K. Keenum and following her passing, he was blessed to share 32 devoted years of marriage with Joanne Keenum, of North Myrtle Beach.
Bill spent his professional career with Burlington Industries in Greensboro, NC, retiring in 1992 after 30 years of service. He served in the US Air Force and was a Korean War Veteran. Bill was a graduate of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He was a member of the Red Bank TN Masonic Lodge 717; the Chattanooga Alhambra Shrine Association; and a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite. Bill was a member of Ocean Drive Presbyterian Church.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Joanne, is his daughter, Tanya Keenum Young; stepsons, Mike Warwick, Bobby Warwick, Barry Warwick; stepdaughter, Vicki Columbus; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents Chester E. Keenum and Rose W. Keenum, he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Della B. Keenum.
Bill was a fun-loving man, with almost as much devotion to golf as he had for his family and friends. For those who knew him, it is unanimously accepted that he was a very generous, compassionate, true lover of life and people. The hallmark of his character includes his friendly and winning personality, his humor, as well as his kind and gentle disposition. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of his life, and his love for them was unconditional. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 31, 2026, at OD Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends following the service in the Family Life Center.
