A Whiteville teenager was taken into custody Wednesday morning after deputies served a warrant charging him with armed robbery. According to the Columbus County Detention Center, Laraun Derik Moultrie Jr., 18, was arrested just after 10 a.m. at a residence on Tobys Lane. The charge listed in the report is robbery with a dangerous weapon, a felony under North Carolina law. No bond amount was recorded.
Moultrie was booked into the detention center, where he remains while awaiting his first court appearance.
