WHITEVILLE, NC — Officers with the Whiteville Police Department arrested a 43-year-old local man early Sunday morning in connection with an investigation into local property offenses.
Lucorey Andre Gause, of Cowhorn Street in Whiteville, was taken into custody and booked into the Columbus County Detention Center at 4:14 a.m. on July 26. Gause has been formally charged with felony breaking and/or entering, felony obtaining property by false pretense, and misdemeanor larceny.
Public records reflect that Gause has a multi-decade law enforcement record in Columbus County. The charge of obtaining property by false pretense involves allegations of using misrepresentation or deceit to acquire goods or money illegally. Magistrates set Gause’s bond at $10,000 secured pending court proceedings.
All individuals listed are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
