Whiteville, NC — Whiteville City Schools will hold its district‑wide Open House on Thursday, August 20, offering families a chance to meet teachers, visit classrooms, and prepare for the start of the 2026–27 school year.
Summer break is often just long enough to recharge, and the district’s campuses are ready to welcome students back and continue the work of building future leaders.
North Whiteville Academy, at South Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, will open earliest from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Whiteville Primary School, located at 805 Barbcrest Avenue, follows from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Edgewood Elementary School, at 317 East Calhoun Street, will host its Open House from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Open houses give families a chance to meet teachers, see the classrooms, and learn what to expect for the school year so students can start off confident and connected.
Central Middle School, at 310 South Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, will welcome families from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Whiteville High School, located at 413 North Lee Street, will close out the schedule from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
District officials note that the staggered times are intended to help families with students in multiple schools move between campuses without overlap.
