NAKINA, N.C. — A routine early morning patrol stop by the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office led to the recovery of a stolen handgun and multiple drug-related charges against a Virginia driver.
On August 7 at approximately 2:13 AM, Deputy Daniel Miesieski conducted a vehicle stop on a Honda Accord along the 16000 block of New Britton Highway East. A subsequent search of the vehicle uncovered a loaded Ruger LCP Max .380 caliber handgun that had been listed as stolen, along with marijuana, rolling supplies, a metal grinder, and drug paraphernalia.
