WPD and Columbus County Sheriff’s Office seize drugs, paraphernalia, and multiple weapon‑conversion devices during June 2 raid
WHITEVILLE, NC — Three people were arrested Tuesday after the Whiteville Police Department and the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at a home on Smith Alley, concluding an investigation launched after community complaints about narcotics activity at the residence.
Investigators with WPD’s Investigations and Narcotics Division, working jointly with sheriff’s deputies, searched the home on June 2.
All three suspects were taken into custody and booked into the Columbus County Detention Center the same day, according to public jail records and agency statements.
Connail Lewis Reaves Faces 18 Charges
Connail Lewis Reaves faces a total of 18 charges, including:
- Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon — one count
- Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Methamphetamine – one count
- Possession of Controlled Substances Within 1,000 Feet of a School – 5 counts
- Possession of Controlled Substances Within 1,000 Feet of a Park – 5 counts
- Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Cocaine – one count
- Possession of Schedule IV Controlled Substances – one count
- Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Marijuana – one count
- Manufacture of Methamphetamine – one count
- Manufacture of Cocaine – one count
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – one count
- Possession of Marijuana Paraphernalia – one count
Reaves was booked on June 2. Bond information was not immediately available.
Jyshaun Latavis Wilder Charged With Weapons Offenses
Jyshaun Latavis Wilder faces:
- Five counts of Possession of a Weapon of Mass Destruction
- One count of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
The weapons charges stem from firearm‑conversion devices, commonly called “switches” which can turn a handgun into a fully automatic weapon. These devices are illegal to possess without federal authorization.
Leslie Miranda Quick Charged With Felony Conspiracy
Leslie Miranda Quick was charged with:
- Three counts of Felony Conspiracy
Quick was also booked on June 2. Additional case details were not immediately released.
According to WPD, the search warrant followed multiple community complaints about suspected narcotics activity at the Smith Alley residence.
