SUPPLY, NC — The Cove at Holden Beach, located at 2633 Holden Beach Road SW, has closed its doors effective immediately, according to a statement shared by the restaurant’s team on social media.
In their announcement, the owners described months of trying to stabilize the business – tightening labor on slow days, monitoring food costs, rolling out a new menu, and holding onto optimism through the off‑season. Despite those efforts, they said the restaurant continued to face low sales, too few filled seats, and rising food and vendor costs.
“Between low sales, not enough seats filled, rising food costs, and vendor prices that seem to go up every time we blink, the math just hasn’t worked out”
The Cove at Holden Beach acknowledged the challenges of operating a restaurant in a coastal community during the off‑season, noting that the business had become unsustainable. The owners thanked customers who supported the restaurant and said they will share updates about the future of the space once they’ve had time to regroup and determine next steps.
