TABOR CITY — Deputies are investigating a late‑night break‑in and assault after a woman reported that a man forced his way into her home and attacked her.
The incident occurred at 2802 Reynolds Road around 10:45 p.m. The victim, Kayley Smith, 27, told deputies the suspect broke into the residence and assaulted her. Document citation: “Offense Description: 90Z – Break/Enter Terrorize/Injure… 90Z – Assault On A Female.”
The suspect is described as a 42‑year‑old Black male.
Assault on a female is a Class A1 misdemeanor in North Carolina, carrying potential jail time. Breaking and entering with intent to terrorize or injure is a felony.
Deputies have not announced an arrest.
