Tabor City Man Charged with Stolen Guns and Serial Number Alteration

TABOR CITY, NC — An investigation by the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office resulted in the arrest of a Tabor City man on multiple weapons and stolen property offenses Monday evening.

Nicky Delane Blackwell, 54, of 6955 Swamp Fox Highway East, was arrested around 8:07 p.m. on July 27.

Law enforcement officials charged Blackwell with two felony counts of possessing a stolen firearm, two felony counts of possessing stolen property, felony conspiracy, and a felony charge for altering or removing a firearm’s serial number. Blackwell was booked into the Columbus County Detention Center and is being held without bond pending his initial court appearance.

Any individuals listed are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
