The Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office has charged Trevor Joe Freeman, 24, of Civietown Road in Supply, with attempted first-degree murder following a shooting incident that occurred on December 29, 2025, at approximately 9:15 p.m.
Deputies responded to a residence on Civietown Road in Supply, where they located an adult male victim, identified as Mitchell Jay Ward, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Ward was transported to an area medical facility and is listed in stable condition.
The suspect fled the scene prior to deputies’ arrival. Through investigative efforts and with the assistance of the community, detectives were able to locate and apprehend Freeman this morning without incident.
Freeman is currently in custody.
The Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank members of the community for their cooperation and assistance, which played a significant role in the successful apprehension of the suspect.
