Suboxone Strip Seized in Prison Contraband Case

WHITEVILLE — A Suboxone strip valued at $100 was confiscated Thursday at the state correctional facility on Prison Camp Road, according to the sheriff’s office.

The suspect is listed as a 35‑year‑old Black male, 6’05”, 210 lbs, and the victim is the State of North Carolina. Document citation: “Item Description: Orange Suboxone Strip… Value: $100.00.”

Suboxone, a controlled substance used in opioid‑dependence treatment, is frequently smuggled into prisons statewide. DPS reports show Suboxone is the most common drug intercepted in NC correctional facilities.

Charges are pending.
