Annual community event brings vendors, animals, food trucks, and family fun to Gurganus Feed
WHITEVILLE, NC — The Spring Fling Flock Swap returns to Gurganus Farm Store on April 18, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., continuing a warm‑weather tradition that blends agriculture, small‑business vendors, and family activities. This year’s event features a $5.00 rabies clinic, food trucks, local vendors, a bounce house, fairy hair, and permanent jewelry. It will be held at Gurganus Farm Store located at 6 Whiteville Plaza. 910.642.3064
Flock swaps have long been part of rural life across the Southeast, originally serving as informal trading days for poultry, livestock, and farm goods. As backyard farming grew in the early 2000s, Gurganus began hosting seasonal swaps to support the renewed interest. The event gradually expanded to include crafts, food, and children’s activities, evolving into a broader community gathering.
Today, the Spring Fling edition draws residents looking for animals, handmade goods, and a family‑friendly day out. Organizers say the event remains rooted in its original purpose: connecting neighbors, supporting small growers, and celebrating the county’s agricultural heritage.
