Exterior work to include pressure washing; temporary safety barriers planned
By BC News Staff Writer
Southport, NC — Weather permitting, maintenance crews are set to begin exterior work at the City’s water tank site on Monday, May 4, 2026. The project will be carried out by Southern Corrosion as part of routine upkeep on municipal water infrastructure.
According to the City, the specialized paint being used is formulated to dry before reaching the ground, reducing the likelihood of overspray affecting nearby properties.
During the initial pressure‑washing phase, residents may notice water dispersing around the site. For safety, certain areas will be temporarily blocked off while crews are working.
City officials thank residents and visitors for their patience and cooperation as this essential maintenance moves forward.
