South Columbus High School has turned to a familiar name to guide its football program, announcing that Jake Fonvielle will return as the Stallions’ head coach.
Fonvielle, a South Columbus graduate, previously led the Stallions from 2009 to 2013 and has remained closely connected to the program for more than two decades. Since 2001, he has served in various roles around the team, most recently working as an offensive analyst during the 2025 season.
His hiring fills the vacancy left by former head coach Russell Dove, who stepped down in November.
Fonvielle’s return marks his second tenure at the helm, bringing experience, continuity, and deep ties to a program he has been part of for most of his adult life.
