Board of Aldermen approves UDO amendment after a brief public hearing
Shallotte NC — The Shallotte Board of Aldermen on May 5 unanimously approved a Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) amendment that updates the town’s rules for gas stations and truck stops. The change, listed as TXT 26‑05, revises definitions in Article 2 and adds higher, more detailed development standards in Article 10‑3(H).
Town staff said the update is intended to tighten site‑design expectations and clarify how these uses are regulated. The amendment took effect immediately following the vote.
