New Outreach Initiative Uses Drug Seizure Funds to Connect Deputies and Neighborhoods
July 8, 2026
Bolivia, NC — The Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office is rolling out its new community outreach initiative this week, hitting the road with a dedicated ice cream truck aimed at fostering positive connections between deputies and the people they serve.
Purchased entirely through drug seizure funds rather than taxpayer dollars, the truck represents a creative reinvestment of proceeds back into the community.
You can find the deputies and their free frozen treats stopping in Leland, Navassa, Belville, and Northwest throughout this week.

Residents are encouraged to come out to say hello, meet their local deputies, and spend some time with the team in a relaxed setting. Since the schedule may shift, keep an eye on the Official Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page for the latest location updates as they happen.
