Myrtle Beach, South Carolina — Myrtle Beach Police officers responded to more than 1,500 calls for service over the weekend, according to preliminary reports. Of those, 863 were self‑initiated, reflecting a strong and proactive presence throughout the city.
As part of those efforts, officers made 150 bookings, including:
• 7 DUI arrests
• 8 open container violations involving vehicles
• 5 charges for assault on a law enforcement officer
• 51 drug‑related charges
Officers also removed 16 firearms from city streets, including 7 found in the possession of juveniles. Illegal narcotics, alcohol, and cash were also seized.
The department says these numbers highlight its continued focus on proactive policing, consistent enforcement, and maintaining public safety throughout Myrtle Beach.
