USDA says the ready‑to‑eat frozen product may pose a food‑safety risk
The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced that Rosina Food Products, Inc. has recalled approximately 9,462 pounds of ready‑to‑eat frozen meatball products due to a potential food‑safety concern.
The recall involves Bremer Family Size Italian Style Meatballs, a fully cooked frozen product sold at retail. The product was sold at ALDI stores nationwide, according to multiple news outlets reporting on the USDA notice.
FSIS said the meatballs were produced on a specific production date and distributed across the country. The agency has not reported any confirmed illnesses linked to the recalled product.
Consumers who purchased the affected meatballs are urged to check their freezers and not consume the product.
FSIS advises discarding the meatballs or returning them to the place of purchase.
FSIS also encourages anyone who may have eaten the product and is experiencing symptoms of foodborne illness to contact a healthcare provider.
