Robert Gregory Nixon, age 60, was called Home on July 23, 2026 after declining health and a serious, brief illness.
Greg was born on February 13, 1966 in Winston-Salem, NC. He graduated from West Forsyth High School in 1985 and went on to become a Lance Corporal (MP) in the Marine Corps, one of his proudest accomplishments.
He was a kind, gentle soul and will be remembered as such by all he came in contact with.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Muriel and Bill Nixon, Sr. He is survived by his brother Bill (Myra), sister Pauline and other extended family members.
Greg did not wish for a formal service and his remains will be laid to rest at the Veteran’s National Cemetery in Salisbury, NC with an Honor Guard ceremony at a date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your local Church or animal rescue in his honor.
