Richard Earl Kirkland, age 69, of Delco, NC, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 30, 2026. Richard Earl was born in Charleston, SC on November 25, 1956 to the late Earl Richard Kirkland and Wanda Mae Hamon Kirkland. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his two sisters; Gloria Cook and Linda Kirkland.
Richard Earl worked for 30 plus years as a Quality Control Inspector for several different companies including the government. One of his hobbies was fishing. Most recently he worked at the Minute Man Convenience Store in Delco.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife; Mary Little Kirkland of the home, daughter; Ashley Scott of Colorado, son; Richard Earl Kirkland II (Danielle) of Florida, daughter; Kari Reyes (Stevie) of Texas, grandchildren; Levi Little, Cheyenne Reyes, Lexi Kirkland, Christian Michael Kirkland, Kalob Scott, Peyton Scott and Gavin Scott, and nephews; Ray Cook, Ryan Cook and Shawn Kirkland.
No services are schedule at the present time.
McKenzie Mortuary, 112 Jefferson Street, Whiteville, NC is serving the Kirkland family.
