WHITEVILLE — A routine inspection at the NC Department of Corrections on Prison Camp Road uncovered a homemade shank, leading to charges against a 32‑year‑old inmate, according to an incident report filed by Sgt. John Reaves. The offense is listed as Possession of a Weapon by a Prisoner, a felony under NC law.
