Coastal shoppers find discounts on power stations, weather radios, and storm‑season supplies

Amazon’s annual Prime Day event is underway this week, and several of the strongest discounts are centered on items useful for the Carolina’s coastal households as the region enters the heart of hurricane season. Shoppers in Brunswick, Columbus and Horry counties are seeing price drops on portable power stations, weather radios, emergency kits, and other supplies commonly used during storm preparation and post‑storm cleanup.

Emergency lighting and backup power remain among the most sought‑after items. Multi‑pack LED lantern sets, often used during extended outages, are discounted alongside compact power stations capable of running phones, small appliances, and medical devices. Water filtration tools, including personal filters and compact purification systems, are also trending as residents look to strengthen their emergency kits ahead of potential boil advisories.

Weather radios with hand‑crank and solar charging features are another category seeing increased interest. These devices remain a staple for coastal communities where cell service can be disrupted during severe weather. Several models with NOAA alert capability are included in this year’s markdowns.

Pre‑packed hurricane and evacuation kits are also featured, offering first aid supplies, ponchos, tools, and basic food and water components in a single bundle. Many households use Prime Day to replace expired items or to build a first‑time go‑bag before the peak of the season.

Post‑storm cleanup items, including disinfecting wipes and portable upholstery cleaners, are also discounted. These products are commonly used after flooding, water intrusion, or debris removal. Fire‑safe document chests, used to protect insurance papers, property records, and digital backups, round out the list of practical household deals.

Prime Day runs through June 26, with new offers appearing throughout the event.
