Out of the Ark veteran‑owned USDA‑licensed educational wildlife program

Fifteen free, family‑friendly wildlife programs scheduled across local branches beginning July 20.

Horry County SC — Out of the Ark, a veteran‑owned and USDA‑licensed educational wildlife program, will bring its interactive animal ambassadors to Horry County Memorial Libraries for a 15 show tour beginning July 20.

The free, family‑friendly programs introduce audiences to mammals, reptiles, birds, amphibians, and invertebrates while teaching conservation, biology, and responsible animal care.

Out of the Ark is a veteran‑owned, USDA‑licensed educational wildlife program founded in 2012 that specializes in bringing live, interactive animal encounters to libraries, schools, and community events across the Carolinas. The organization uses a rotating group of trained “animal ambassadors” which include mammals, reptiles, birds, amphibians, and invertebrates to teach audiences about conservation, biology, and responsible animal care.

Their programs are designed to be hands‑on and family‑friendly, with an emphasis on safe public interaction, science‑based education, and high standards of animal welfare.

“The Tour” will stop at branches across the county over a ten day span:

Green Sea Floyds – Monday, July 20 at 10:00 a.m., Aynor – Monday, July 20 at 2:00 p.m., Carolina Forest – Tuesday, July 21 at 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., Bucksport – Wednesday, July 22 at 10:00 a.m., Conway – Thursday, July 23 at 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., Surfside – Friday, July 24 at 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., North Myrtle Beach – Monday, July 27 at 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., Loris – Tuesday, July 28 at 10:00 a.m., Little River – Tuesday, July 28 at 2:00 p.m. and to end the 15 show tour, in Socastee on Wednesday, July 29 at 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.

Each show runs approximately 30 minutes and features a rotating selection of animals chosen for library audiences. All programs are free and open to the public, though seating may vary by branch.
