TABOR CITY, NC — Authorities have formally initiated extradition proceedings against a 55-year-old man wanted by out-of-state law enforcement agencies.
Timothy Griffin, whose address is listed as the Tabor Correctional Institution in Tabor City, was processed into the Columbus County Detention Center at 5:33 a.m. on July 27 by Columbus County Sheriff’s deputies. Griffin was booked on a felony charge of Extradition / Fugitive from Another State.
Fugitive warrants are issued when a suspect is fleeing prosecution or avoiding sentencing for a crime committed in a different jurisdiction. Griffin is currently held under a $100,000 secured bond as legal teams prepare for extradition hearings to return him to the demanding state.
All individuals listed are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
Charges and case statuses may change as investigations and court proceedings continue.
