SUNSET BEACH, NC — The Sunset Beach Police Department is participating in Operation Firecracker, North Carolina’s statewide “Booze It & Lose It” campaign running June 29 through July 5, 2026.
The coordinated effort, led by the Governor’s Highway Safety Program, focuses on reducing impaired driving during Independence Day celebrations. Officers will increase patrols and enforcement to help keep local roads safe.
Residents and visitors are urged to celebrate responsibly, plan for a designated driver, or make other arrangements before heading out.
