Emergency crews responded around 4 a.m. Sunday to a Sigman Road blaze; investigation ongoing
Boiling Spring Lakes, NC — A pre‑dawn house fire on Sigman Road left one person dead and another injured early Sunday, according to Boiling Spring Lakes authorities.
Boiling Spring Lakes Police, Boiling Spring Lakes Fire Rescue, and Brunswick County EMS were dispatched around 4:00 a.m. on March 15 to the 100 block of Sigman Road for a reported structure fire. Responders found four people inside the residence when the fire broke out.
One occupant was transported for additional medical care. A man found inside the home was pronounced dead at the scene.
A wide mutual‑aid response followed
Assistance from the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office, Animal Protective Services, Sunny Point Fire Department, Southport Fire Department, Oak Island Fire Department, Winnabow Fire Department, Bolivia Fire Department, Supply Fire Department, and Leland Fire Department.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Boiling Spring Lakes Police Department and the Brunswick County Fire Marshal’s Office.
Officials say no additional information will be released at this time.
