Anheuser‑Busch, American Red Cross, and NVFC partnership supports local volunteer departments

Whiteville, NC — The North Whiteville Volunteer Fire Department has received a grant providing several cases of emergency drinking water to support firefighters during incident response and training.

Founded in 1981, the North Whiteville Volunteer Fire Department serves the northern Whiteville area with fire protection, rescue response, and public safety education. The volunteer‑run department operates from its longtime station on Peacock Road.

The donation comes through Anheuser‑Busch’s national program in partnership with the American Red Cross and the National Volunteer Fire Council, which supplies clean drinking water to volunteer fire departments across the country.

The initiative is designed to help departments maintain firefighter health and hydration during long‑duration calls and high‑heat operations.

North Whiteville VFD expressed appreciation for the support, noting that organizations that invest in volunteer departments play an important role in strengthening community safety and readiness. The department thanked Anheuser‑Busch for its continued commitment to first responders and for recognizing the essential work performed by volunteer firefighters in communities like theirs.
