Holiday crowds generated 579 calls for service as officers and city crews worked continuous shifts
NMB, SC — North Myrtle Beach Police said residents, visitors, and local businesses played a key role in keeping the Fourth of July weekend safe and orderly amid heavy holiday crowds.
With tens of thousands of people in town, officers worked continuous shifts and responded to 579 calls for service between July 3–5. The department said its focus remained on public safety, assisting families, and maintaining smooth operations during one of the city’s busiest weekends of the year.
City partners in fire, EMS, public works, sanitation, and parks and recreation were also recognized for supporting holiday operations behind the scenes.
Police credited the community for its cooperation, patience, and willingness to look out for one another, noting that those efforts contributed significantly to a successful holiday period.
