Proposed dates include compensatory days; feedback accepted through March 4
The North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission is accepting public comments on proposed 2026–2027 hunting seasons for waterfowl, webless migratory birds, and extended falconry. Feedback may be submitted through 5 p.m. on March 4, 2026, using the agency’s online portal.
Each year, the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service sets federal season frameworks, and the Commission selects dates within those guidelines. The current proposals include compensatory days for both waterfowl and webless species—an option available to states that do not allow Sunday hunting.
Commissioners will review public input and staff recommendations before voting on final season dates at their April 16, 2026, business meeting.
