Navassa Sets June 18 Budget Hearing as Town Urges Hurricane Preparedness

Public Hearing Notice: Proposed FY 2026–2027 Budget

The Town of Navassa Town Council will conduct a public hearing on the proposed Fiscal Year 2026–2027 budget on: Thursday, June 18 at 7:30 p.m. at the Navassa Community Center located at 338 Main Street.

Residents are encouraged to attend and provide comments regarding the proposed budget. A copy of the proposed Fiscal Year 2026–2027 budget is on file with the Office of the Town Clerk. The proposed budget includes the General Fund, Powell Bill, and Capital Projects, with a total proposed budget of $4,866,081.00.

Hurricane Season Preparedness Reminder

The Town of Navassa reminds new and seasoned residents that hurricane season is now underway and continues through November 30. While storms can vary in strength and timing, preparation is key to keeping your household safe.

Just as Noah built the ark before the rain ever started, the safest time to prepare is now, while conditions are calm and resources are easy to gather.

Residents are encouraged to create emergency plan, build an emergency supply kit with food, water, medicine, flashlights, batteries, and important documents, Know the evacuation routes and shelter options.
